Post

Hello again ~

Let’s try this again! My first post here was on Dec of 2015…

When we sat down and talked about how we should “reboot” this section, we came up with Why I started SAMANTHA KNIGHT fine jewelry and how. But as I went back to look at what I had previously posted, I realized I had already shared WHY (see below) and now I’ll answer HOW.

My name is Samantha Knight and I love jewelry. I’m talking obsessive, fall-down-crazy-drunk-in-love-with jewelry. Modern, sculptural, dainty, lady-like, sparkly, chunky, Edwardian, Victorian, Regency, gem-laden… all of it. And especially diamonds.

I’ve been a designer most of my life. My background ranges from interior decorating and custom furniture design (madport, madport décor and Environment) to a needlework studio (Abuelita’s Knitting and Needlepoint), a wine lounge (madport). But jewelry has always been a passion of mine and now I’m happy to share my designs with you. I call them “everyday adornments for a graceful life” because I believe you deserve to wear gorgeous pieces every single day. They are special, and they are just for you.

My family lives in a 125-year-old Victorian house and when I’m not dreaming up new designs, my days are filled with kids (my four kids range from elementary school to college), tennis, running, school volunteering, knitting, needlepoint, and chasing around various pets.

I want this blog to be a place to share special pieces I find treasure hunting, new designs, to talk about style trends, share ideas for mixing and matching antique jewelry with modern pieces, and unearth bejeweled treasures from bygone eras. Sign up for my mailing list and follow me on Instagram for eye candy, tips and tricks for styling jewelry, trunk shows and sales.

How did I start?

Well, I had started another jewelry line with a friend and that venture sent me closer to fine jewelry design, once I decided that’s the direction I wanted to go in I started SKfj. Being a Los Angeles Native, I do think my designs represent a LA sensibility with a NYC twist. If you follow me on Insta you know I’m east OFTEN!

I love simply modern diamond and gold pieces while layering with chunky vintage and antique pieces. So, I started with our Petite Diamond Bar Earrings, then our Diamond Initial Earrings and Signature Signet. At this point I also had a growing Antique Jewelry Collection and would find pieces for friends to go with their current collections, so my Curated Collection came about quite organically!

Trunk Show

It’s here! Autumn has arrived in Southern California in a series of small rainstorms and the slightest chill in the air, and you know what that means: the holiday season is just around the corner!

To celebrate, I’m having a trunk show to spotlight all my latest pieces and share my secrets on how to accessorize your ears, wrists and neck with diamonds, antiques and pieces you may already own. Think arm stacks! Think lovely layers of chains and pendants! Think edgy-but-elegant ear stacks!

Best of all, you can fill out your own holiday wish list and “inspire” Santa to put something you really want under the tree this year!

Samantha Knight Fine Jewelry Trunk Show
Thursday, November 12th -- 6 to 9 pm
At Kidd’s Jewelry Heist
1510 Mission Street
South Pasadena, CA 91030

Bring your friends for sweets, champagne and sparklies!

To whet your appetite, here are my top picks for Santa’s list:

I think we ALL need a pair of these Initial Earrings, or even just one! I sometimes wear my S with one of my Petite Bar earrings.

Our Bar Necklace is the perfect modern stacker to add to your vintage/antique chain stack.

It's been fun helping my friends/clients create their personal charm collections! This is going to be a HOT item this holiday season!

Now it’s your turn: which of these pieces do you want to find in your stocking this year? Post it on Instagram and tag me: @samanthaknightjewelry

Gracefully yours,
Samantha

Before we go, here’s a sample of my latest obsessions:

Seek procession, while wearing diamonds! ;)

Mixing the classics with the modern.

My signet ring is an everyday wear for me!
